Over the past year, I’ve been exploring my photography and revisiting my passion for it again.
In my commercial projects I strive for perfection, whether that’s choosing the right subject, focusing on lighting or retouching and making sure I have the perfect balance. I’m fascinated by the whole process from start to finish. enjoying the process of art directing, creating the concept right through to the final tweaking of the image for the campaign and making sure it’s as high end as possible!
There’s something I miss about just taking a picture. “capturing the moment”. It sounds trivial and a tad cliche but when I think so much about the clients’ needs, target audience, cross marketing, how to make that project look bigger (or smaller) in production value. It can lose its romantic side of things and become more of a strategy and construct of statistics to well… make money (nothing wrong with that!) I love working on a big budget and helping companies thrive. It’s incredible to be able help make others succeed from such an enjoyable career… It’s just refreshing to mix it up a little, like taking a holiday and when it’s done you can get back in to the obsessive nitty gritty of a great project.
So, I decided to documenting the life I see, little beauties, relationships, nature, narrative, the detail. most importantly the spontaneity of it all.
